Bus-Stop Backpackers, Otago Peninsula
Going to see the Albatross Colony and the penguins? A winding road hugs the rocky Otago Harbour shoreline. You’ll nose in and out of a number of cosy bays, and then on the north side of Portobello Bay, prepare to swing hard right up a short slope to the cosy "Bus-Stop Backpackers". Just 30 minutes from the buzz of Dunedin city, you have escaped to a rural waterside paradise, a far cry from a packed smelly-socks dorm.

Just down the road from the home of the giant Albatross at Otago Heads, it’s a homely little spot where you can choose to stay in either of our two rooms which sleep up to five people. And if you’re lucky, you can ask Phil about staying in the "Classic Caravan".
The classic caravan is also available to the traveller looking for a private haven after a big day on the Peninsula. Our classic caravan has a small double bed, an ideal place if you would like your own space, perfect for one person.
