I Wondered Lonely

Verse

2013  (available from Artist)

Excerpt from these works

I WONDERED LONELY
As a clown
no clouds
got in my way
I watch the world
from both sides now
And wondered
what to say
I wondered about
the whereabouts
where all the flowers
had gone?
I wondered if Jude
would ever - let me down
and if sad song
could make it better?
I looked for Puff
that magic dragon
he wasn't by the sea
and I felt
maybe
the Carnival may
well be over!
I wondered lonely
as a clown
As I sought
the fool on the hill
but all I found
were windmills
of my mind - whirling
not even
a whistling Gypsy
coming over that hill
could ease my troubled mind
so as I neared
the journeys end
Hid it my way
in a field!
In a field
of golden daffodils
I lay still!
Seeking Blue skies
to shine on me
and - nothing but blue skies
did I see!
